Who are we
My name is Vinmala and I am the owner and founder of our company, registered in 2019. We’re a family business aimed at eating healthy tasty food and cooking it in a shorter time. I grew up in a typically Indian home where food and family were the main focus. Many hours of everyday went into producing the most delicious aromatic food. And just as we finished the one meal, we started prepping for the next.
I learnt how to cook with a pinch of this and a little bit of that. We did lots of cooking and there was lots of time to do that. In today’s world our children are juggling studies and careers and they won’t be able to cook the foods they love because it’s just too difficult and they don’t have the time. So, instead, they settle for specialist takeaways which are a very costly expense.

How did we get here?
In November 2018 my son that was leaving to the states, was worried about the food he was going to eat, since he was accustomed to eating healthy, authentic Indian food. So I packed in a ‘cooking kit’ with the essential spices and I threw in a recipe to make it easier for him. Needless to say, it worked brilliantly. He was so impressed with the experience that he joked and said ‘I wish we could bottle it and sell it’
This is how my first passion was realized and Spice Kit was born.
Our Vision
So, we want to simplify the cooking process in order to save you time and money. Secondly, we want to take the hassle factor out shopping for a unique gift and giving you the opportunity to order your gifts and spice refills online. To give you a variety, we have expanded our spice range to include the South African Braai Kit and our combination Gin Botanicals Kit.
